The thing about earrings is that you gotta make two. I dont want to make another one of this because it just took too long. Also I’m out of green beads. But I do think its really pretty! Word to the wise: try to make sure all your beads are the same size—the grey delica beads were slightly smaller and it made for a crooked brick stitch.

first try at Native American style beaded earrings. I found a tutorial to do a brick stitch, and sorta ended up with this. Lots of fun to make. The triangle part is a little crooked but its not too shabby for my first try!

I’ve been seeing this one inch ruler charm necklace around lately, and I have considered buying the $32 version here. On my random excursion to the bead shop today I found it! for only 85¢! It only has one hole in it but that is okay. I already had some chain, clasps, and jump rings on hand, so my version cost roughly $1.

Made the braided bead bracelet from Honestly…wtf. I used embroidery thread rather than waxed linen just because I already had it on hand.

Finally made time to take photos of the mask I made for the AIGA Fall Gala: Mask Appeal.
I spent about 2 months working on it sporadically. This could have easily been finished in less than a week if it werent for work! I used shells coated with clear nail polish, faux pearl beads, and cord from the fabric department. I glued all of those rhinestones in by hand. All held together with hot glue and Shoe-Goo. This is my first time decorating a mask too!

another version of the circular brick stitch earrings using pink faux pearls, cream, bronze, black, salmon, and gold colored seed beads, with pink glass leaf beads at the bottom. its so nice to not work in a retail craft store anymore, I have time to do some real crafts!! I love this stitch. so fun.

beaded spider. I sorta figured my way around this one, the body was made like how I made my crystal rings, and the legs are seed beads on wire. I’m going to probably put this onto a ring!

button bouquet. made from buttons (such a nice way to use up my button stash), wire, and random beads. Some stems had felt flowers on them. I filled up the jar with beads that I didnt like, so they hold up the flowers better.

turquoise blue and black seed bead bracelet, with metal (pewter?) beads at the cross point. Super easy to make. This style helped me start getting interested in beading/jewelry making when I was a kid. Gotta bring it back!

Bracelet made with clear/yellow/orange crystal beads, red crystal beads, pearls from a random necklace, and skull bead, pearl, and mother-of-pearl leaf. Trying to get back into making these linked bracelets. I used to be so good at it!
